Father’s Day is this Sunday, and to celebrate the old man we’ve called on our chums at Co-op Food for their most appealing dad-friendly recipes.
There’s everything a dad could possibly want to feast on here, whether he’s a veggie aficionado or 100% carnivore, so you’ve got no excuse not to treat him to a slap-up dinner this weekend.
Cheers to that!
1. Pork steaks with parma ham
Absolutely delicious, if we do say so ourselves – and ready in 25 minutes, too.
2. Hunters chicken
Utterly indulgent, and another one that’s super quick to whip up. Tuck in!
3. Herb crusted lamb steaks
For the dad who loves his Sunday roast above all else.
4. Bombay potato tray bake
Ok, one for the veggie dad – because yes, veggie food can be hearty af too. This one is packed with portions at the same time, so extra nutrition points.
5. Cajun steak tacos
Briefly back on the meat, and this is one we’re pretty sure he’ll love. Cajun. Steak. Tacos. Chances are, he won’t be the only one.
6. Beetroot and halloumi burgers
Britain is the second biggest consumer of halloumi in the world, behind Cyprus, so we think it’s time your dad got acquainted if he hasn’t already.
7. Baked veggie burgers
Staying on the burger theme, because really, why would we not when this one looks THIS good?
8. Braised sausage with lentils
An all-time classic, with a lentil twist.
9. Spicy bacon risotto
An absolute winner here, and probably big enough to feed the rest of the family too – unless your dad is extra hungry, of course.
10. BBQ pork loin steaks
Dads love a BBQ, and ‘tis the season – so we couldn’t really leave this one out, could we? No, we could not.
11. Spicy sweet potachos
You might not have come across potachos before, and we bet your dad hasn’t either – so why not create a Mexican feast this Father’s Day? Bonito!
12. Beef bourguignon
This one is a little bit fancy, and a whole lot French. Make it for the dad who deserves spoiling, and serve it with an enormous glass of Malbec.
13. Cauliflower korma
A lighter option, potentially ideal for the dad who’s watching his waistline.
14. Chicken and chorizo bake
Super easy, whilst still being pretty impressive – just throw it all in a baking tray and take it out of the oven 45 minutes later, golden-baked and ready to be devoured. Yum.
15. Chickpea mash fish pie
Fish pie might seem wintry, but the combination of Scottish salmon and chickpea in this mean it’s light enough for a summery evening. We recommend dining al fresco with a carafe of sauvignon and a leafy side salad.
16. Apple and raspberry crumble
We had to include a dessert to finish, and this is the heartiest, most Father’s Day appropriate option we could have picked – a classic crumble, packed with fruit. If your dad eats the whole dish it’s not our fault.
