Vegan Recipes Weekly: Mac 'N Cheese

A major concern for everyone considering going vegan has always been giving up their mac n’ cheese.

Not only an easy-peasy comfort food, but also a perfect combination of simplicity and taste, which can be altered in various ways or eaten the plain old way.

But we never imagined, until now, that with its main ingredients being milk and cheese, the good old Mac'n'cheese can go anywhere near a vegan diet. How wrong were we! Here is a perfect recipe to keep you warm when the cold winter days fall upon us, and it is still temptingly quick and simple. Just follow the directions below!


8 oz. favorite pasta

1 1/4 cup unsweetened non dairy milk

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 heaping tablespoons flour

½  cup nutritional yeast flakes

½  teaspoon garlic powder

¼  teaspoon chili powder

¼  teaspoon chipotle powder

Dash of salt (optional)


  1. Cook your pasta based on the ingredients on the box.

  2. Add together oil and flour in another bowl, whisk over medium heat for 2 minutes.

  3. Add a little bit of milk at a time to the oil mixture, until it thickens. Continue stirring for about eight minutes.

  4. Take off of heat and nutritional yeast, chili powder and chipotle powder, salt, and garlic powder.

  5. Add to pasta, and if needed, add more milk.

  6. Enjoy!
