The White Crow, the incredible true story of legendary dancer Rudolf Nureyev, is brought to life by Academy Award nominee Ralph Fiennes and BAFTA-winning screenwriter David Hare, detailing a story of passion and the desire to follow one’s own path.

The trailer takes us directly to the height of the Cold War, where a group of Soviet dancers is touring in Paris for the first time. Among them is a young man by the name of Rudolf Nureyev. We see he is a poor young man from Russia, and a member of the world-renowned Kirov Ballet Company, travelling for the first time outside the Soviet Union.

Nureyev is delighted by Parisian life, and is eager to consume all the culture, art, music and opportunities the dazzling city has to offer. Yet the KGB officers who watch his every move become increasingly suspicious of his behaviour and his friendship with the young Parisienne, Clara Saint. This type of relationship is strictly forbidden as Clara is not from Russia, and is a very proud capitalist.

When the KGB finally confront Nureyev with a shocking demand, he is forced to make a heart-breaking decision, one that may change the course of his life forever and put his family and friends in terrible danger.

The White Crow is coming to UK cinemas on 22nd March 2019.
