It aims at honouring the creatives, directors and producers behind the short films presented, but also celebrates new and emerging talents. Events will take place in London’s most popular venues, such as Regent Street Cinema, Curzon Soho and ICA. A competition for the best short films will be held throughout the week, that will culminate in an award winners’ session. On the last day of the festival, all the award-winning short films will be compiled and presented to the public, who can come down to Rio Cinema to see them. Nominated by the Guardian Guide as the best short film festival in the world, LSFF is known for its cutting-edge events. The discussion of alternative, taboo topics makes this festival an outstanding and necessary bridge between cinema and real-life issues. Anxiety, depression, racism, sexualisation, and surrealism are just a few on the list of subjects that these short film sessions will discuss. With ground-breaking performances and use of unique visuals, lights and sound, this is an unmissable festival that will no doubt inspire and touch the public once more.
