La La Land and Moonlight win big at the 74th annual Golden Globes

The first flagship Hollywood awards night of 2017 kicked off with a record-breaking seven wins for Damien Chazelle’s La La Land.
Whilst the BAFTA and Oscar camps are still yet to even announce their nominations grid, the famously defunct Golden Globes kicked the official awards season off in style with plenty of expected winners, and a few surprises last night.
Unsurprisingly La La Land won every award it was nominated for, with the equally celebrated Moonlight nabbing the big prize for drama, heating up the Oscar race somewhat.
Nothing for Amy Adams or Arrival felt a little strange (especially considering Denis Villeneuve wasn’t even so much as nominated, but Jonah Hill was for War Dogs), and it might’ve been a nice surprise if Laika’s animated dark horse Kubo and the Two Strings finally pulled the rug out from under Disney’s anthropomorphised feet, but alas.
Whilst Meryl Streep’s super political Trump-takedown pretty much stunned and owned the ceremony overall, if you tuned in specifically to hear of the night’s key winners in film, we’ve totally got you covered.
