The Theory of Everything tells the story of Stephen Hawking, possibly the world’s most eminent scientist, and how he met his future wife Jane whilst they were both students at Cambridge – coinciding with the devastating moment he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of just 21.

The film stars Les Miserables' Eddie Redmayne as Hawking and Felicity Jones (The Invisible Woman, Breathe In, Like Crazy) as his future wife, arts student Jane Wilde.

Both have already been lauded for their strong performances, set against the backdrop of 1960s Cambridge.

They are joined by David Thewlis, Emily Watson, Maxine Peake and Charlie Cox.

The Theory of Everything is based on Jane Hawking’s memoir, “Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen.”

The Theory of Everything is released in UK cinemas on 1st January 2015.
