The Five Hair Commandments

If there's something I've destroyed, replenished and destroyed again; it's my hair. Over the years I have chopped, changed and all but chargrilled my hair to go with my mood/the weather/where the moon is in the sky and only now am I actually taking my hair health into account and looking after it properly. So this year I've decided that you guys are coming with me and we're gonna save our hair together OK? OK... Commandment 1: Thou shalt not cut thy own fringe via GIPHY This should go without saying. I feel like there have been countless instances where I have suffered a moment of madness and decided to cut myself a (wonky) fringe. DON'T DO IT. Think about it long and hard and when you're 100% sure, then go to a professional. Commandment 2: Thou shalt not use bleach without a hair stylist's supervision via GIPHY Another tip that should go without saying although no one will ever listen to me. Bleach is best left to the pros, no one wants custard coloured hair and even bald patches from improper use. If you are still insistent on still going ahead, PROCEED WITH CAUTION! Commandment 3: Thou shall only wash hair when it's needed. via GIPHY Washing your hair isn't just a time to get the excess oils out, it's also a time to relax and even have a little 'me time' for some. However, some people shower too much, which strips the oils from your hair, therefore, it begins to make it brittle. Be sure to opt for a bath or shower where you don't wash your hair if you'd like to relax and shampoo your hair only when necessary. Commandment 4: Thou shall learn what is good for thou's hair. via GIPHY Your hair is like your skin, it has a type and must be cared for in a certain way. Get to know your hair and scalp to ensure you're using the right treatment. Commandment 5: Thou shall give hair some love! via GIPHY Some days you'll just be feeling meh, so get yourself a hair mask and treat yourself! You could even splurge on a blowout or trim - both guaranteed to help you look - and feel - great! Lead Image: Free-Photos on Pixabay
