My 2018 fashion icon: Lady Gaga
Share This Article:
I think it’s fair to say that Lady Gaga has proven herself to be a fashion icon over the years. From the infamous meat dress that stunned critics to her more recent feather gown, she certainly has made a name for herself in the fashion world.
esque it is - a style that really suits her. The low cut shirt, black jeans and bandana/headband is simple yet effective, while the singer’s hair, styled down and very natural, finishes the look of brilliantly.
6. Looking dreamy in Tom Ford
.The off-the-shoulder beauty is paired with what seems to be a whiter shade of blonde hair than what we’ve seen before, styled straight and sleek.
The songstress’s red dress drapes across the floor on the magazine’s cover, along with the other powerful ladies who sit beside her, all dressed in various shades of red - a colour laced with boldness and strength. A statement that goes beyond the wardrobe.
So that's my fashion icon for the year 2018, and I'm excited to see what 2019 brings in terms of Gaga's wardrobe.

With the release of the critically acclaimed A Star is Born in October and numerous award nominations later, this has definitely been a good year for the singer turned actress. Here are some of her best looks: 1. Pretty in pink
Whilst walking down the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival, Gaga sported a spectacular Valentino Haute Couture dress that looked fit for a princess. The stripped-back feel of her hair coupled with the elegance of the feathers in the dress created an ensemble that radiates Hollywood glam. 2. Street styleView this post on Instagram
If anyone is going to pull off shiny thigh high boots and matching sunglasses, it’s going to be Gaga. This outfit really takes me back to her Countess role in American Horror Story: Hotel, especially with the red lip and minimal eye makeup. The star pairs the accessories with a neutral tones coat that really make the red pop. 3. A fashion star is bornView this post on Instagram
I couldn’t write a piece about my favourite Lady Gaga outfits without acknowledging the sensational wardrobe from A Star Is Born. It seriously gave me country, 'rough around the edges' vibes, which isn’t a far cry away from Gaga’s style from her 2015 album, Joanne. The relaxed fit of the tank top along with the leopard print trousers and hat looks incredible on her. Plus, the brown hair? Love it! 4. Blue eleganceView this post on Instagram
This dreamy, goddess-like gown from Iris Van Herpen is almost hypnotising to look at. Gaga channels pure elegance meets Disney’s Frozen as she poses for her Instagram, showcasing the designer's ‘blue organza dress’ from the fall collection. This isn’t the first time the fashion powerhouse has worn this designer, but it definitely is a little more stripped-back compared to when she stepped out of a carriage looking like she’d been to outer space in 2012.View this post on Instagram

Gaga posing for Vogue magazine back in September was the definition of natural, candid and refreshing. This look is actually one of my all-time favourites, purely because of how simple and country-View this post on Instagram
Back in April, to celebrate ten years since the release of her first breakout single, Just Dance, the star posted a series of Instagram posts showing off an all-white Tom Ford outfit. Choosing to ditch the top, Gaga styled the shiny wide-leg pants with the matching blazer and bra. Gaga truly knows how to spice up an outfit with one of the most iconic and classic ways to style a blazer. 7. Girl powerView this post on Instagram
Lady Gaga meant business as she attended a Variety event in this tailored black suit, choosing to pair the piece with contrasting gold, metallic heels, adding a feminine edge to the outfit. She rocked the look with slicked back hair in one of what seems to be her favourite hairstyles of the year - the classic bun. Also, can I just say, isn’t there something so powerful about a woman in a suit? This is not the only feminist statement Gaga has made - she recently wore an oversized Marc Jacobs suit to the Elle Women in Hollywood event, proving that when it comes to the largely male-dominated music and film industries, she truly does wear the pants with this one. 8.
