First glance at Meghan Markle's wedding dress

Normally, you have to wait until the big day to catch a glimpse of the bride’s wedding dress.

Not so with Meghan Markle. Photographs of her in her wedding gown have been circulating over the past week, giving us a sneaky peak of THE dress of the year.

 Sort of.

Because this year, Markle is getting married twice. Once, for real, to Prince Harry on 19th May, and once on screen in the finale of season 7 of Suits, as the soon-to-be royal bows out of the show after seven years.

The Anne Barge ballgown from that wedding has been recycled for this take-two, with the addition of a black belt, and a hairstyle update.

Markle has spoken out about her character’s wedding dress before, stating in a 2016 interview with Glamour that ‘It's not my personal style, because I'm a lot more relaxed than Rachel but I love that I got to play dress up in this gown.’

The gown itself is exactly what we might expect a princess to wear, with its nipped-in waist, beading and full tulle skirt.

But Prince Harry’s fiancé has instead suggested that her own wedding gown choice will probably be ‘Classic and simple... perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic.’

Markle may have already worn one wedding dress this year, but that doesn’t mean she’s limiting her options. In 2011, the Duchess of Cambridge had two dresses on her big day, so we may yet see a few more outfits from the bride-to-be.

Only four weeks to go!
