Fashion blogging rose to new heights in 2016, with the most influential style bloggers finding themselves miraculously entangled with the real fashion world: seated amongst the press and the stylists at high-profile fashion shows, these pinicles of street-style have finally been recognised for their ability to open up the coveted world of fashion to every-day fashionistas.
With hundreds-of-thousands of followers, this new wave of trendsetters have begun to make their own mark on the fashion world, their style choices feeding through to their followers and influencing our own wardrobes.
But, it's no secret that the blogging industry is blooming and, with no requirements other than a decent eye for camera angles and a personable media presence, it seems now that EVERYONE is wanting to have a go. It can sometimes be difficult, therefore, to sort the diamonds from the shiny plastic.
So to save you trawling the internet in search of the serious up-and-coming fashion royalty, I've narrowed my favourties list down to my five top fashion bloggers to keep you inspired in 2017:
Name: Lucy Moon
Blogs at: I Am Lucy Moon (www.iamlucymoon.com/)
Lucy Moon, a SOAS graduate and popular Youtuber with more than 175,000 subscribers, has recently ventured into the world of blogging and is causing quite a storm. Although I Am Lucy Moon is not necessarily a style blog, the outfits she does capture as part of a wider post cause me to have serious clothing envy, my favourites including stylish jumpers and heels combos alongside classic staples. Lucy's daily outfits are perfect for lectures and socialising in the city come day or night, and it's due to this why I think Lucy's style makes her the one to watch.
Name: Parie Joshi
Blogs at: Class & Glitter (www.classandglitter.com)
Parie Joshi, one of my longtime favourite bloggers and a student at Edge Hill University, mixes style shots with beauty posts and updates on her daily life as a student. Whether she's wearing Topshop or Primark, Parie can pull off an effortlessly chic look for every occasion, and her recent photography makes every image look spectacular.
Blogger: Olivia Purvis
Blogs at: What Olivia Did (www.whatoliviadid.com/)
Olivia (Liv) Purvis is the most well known blogger on this list, with features in Look magazine and on Emma Gannon's Ctrl, Alt, Delete podcast. Her impeccable daily style would make every outfit look effortlessly chic on a high street budget, but coupled with stunning backdrops from Liv's many trips abroad and a professional photographer boyfriend to boot, Liv's blog is one to watch - if you're not watching it already.
Blogger: Laura Potter
Blogs at: Tiny Twisst (www.tinytwisst.com/)
Laura Potter's amazing hair styles and tutorials were what originally attracted me to her blog, but her outfits made me stay. Relaxing, chic and best of all, affordable - Laura's style snippets make me want to hop onto the Topshop site daily.
Blogger: Rachel Simpson
Blogs at: Rachel Nicole (www.rachelnicole.co.uk)
Rachel Simpson mixes timeless outfits with travel posts from the likes of Majorca, London and her home town of Scarborough in a way that gives me more than just wanderlust. Whether it's Rachel's repeated style posts, her trips to Disneyland, or her chatty personality, there's a reason why Rachel's blog is a staple in my favourites bar and why it should be in yours too.
