Rudimental partner with Bench on #LoveMyHood campaign

First established in 1989, Bench began as a specialty menswear brand born out of contemporary skate and BMX culture.

Focused on providing stylish yet functional clothing as suited to that action-driven city lifestyle, Bench, now 27 years old, has become a global fashion brand, expanding into both women’s and childrenswear to offer unique function-led apparel dedicated to Life and Performance.

The Bench #LoveMyHood campaign (a play on the dual meaning of ‘hood’ – referring to the brands most iconic item of clothing as well as the collective connotations of neighbourhood) was launched in 2014 as a national celebration of the diversity of city life, and proudly standing for the individuality of each person within it.

Known for its collaborations with the best of Britain’s emerging musical talent, the #LoveMyHood campaign seeks out artists whose music was born in the city, artists who actively set out to break the boundaries of genre and uphold the brand’s commitment to the unconventional reality of city life.

This year’s ambassadors follow on from the now global phenomenon Jess Glynne, whose year-long collaboration saw her shoot the Bench AW15 collection in her own London neighbourhood, documenting her rapid rise to fame after her hit ‘Hold my Hand’ reached number 1 in May 2015, and concluded last spring with the release of her own Bench Collection, the x Jess Glynne capsule.

Her successors are of course none other Hackney-born-street-savvy-city-boys, Rudimental.

Having recently completed their sold-out headline tour across Asia, America and Australia, Rudimental are one of the most diverse musical collectives ever to have grown from London streets. Their eclectic sound is an ever-developing fusion of hip hop, soul, funk, drum-and-base and break-beat. They are in short, the essence of the brand intentions and apt ambassadors for the #LoveMyHood campaign.

The Bench AW16 campaign looks to deliver the most personal brand-artist collaboration yet, offering a 360° view into the group’s everyday lifestyle. Not only does the campaign showcase behind the scenes footage from the group’s worldwide tour, but earlier this year Bench documented the AW campaign shoot in real time, sharing the New York roof-top experience live via Snapchat.


The AW16 collection features a range of highly wearable winter fashion, from jeans to jackets and comfort-conscious loungewear. The collection boasts the most fashionable multi-functional clothing at affordable city prices - a must-have pick from the women’s collection being the Get-Up-And-Go coat, which with a standing collar and removable hood is a fashion-steal at only £135, while our favourite from the men’s has to be the Quilted Bomber!
