What’s that? Christmas is less than three weeks away? Oh… well, it’s certainly crept up on me, and I’m fairly sure I can’t be the only one! If you’re struggling to decide what to buy that particularly picky mate, or want to treat your lovely mum for always being there to help with your laundry/cooking/the general crises of student life, but are finding yourself stumped by those two irritating small words (1 – Student; 2 – Budget!), all is not lost.

That’s right, there are options besides novelty festive socks and Topshop gift cards – a pretty piece of quality jewellery is almost always a winner, but good quality and style doesn’t have to tip your already anxious bank balance over the edge this Christmas.

A graduate of Metalwork and Jewellery from Sheffield Hallam University, Jessica Flinn is one of the UK’s most exciting new young designers, her creations having graced the pages of British Vogue and worn by celebrities such as Jessica Wright (of TOWIE fame), and presenters Kate Garraway and Angelica Bell.  This, as well as being headlined by Professional Jeweller Magazine as one of their HOT 100 in the jewellery industry, and shortlisted for Designer of the Year, has seen Jessica become one of the most coveted new British jewellery brands of recent years.

While her stunningly crafted pieces have gained a number of celebrity and fashionista fans, you might be happily surprised to know that they don’t come with the eye-watering price tags normally found in high fashion magazines!  Two of Jessica’s luxury contemporary collections, ‘Princess Stones’ and ‘Oxygen’ are available from www.thejewellerychannel.tv from just £17.99.

Both collections feature necklaces, pendants, bracelets, rings and earrings made from sterling silver in a variety of designs that are simultaneously sophisticated and strong.  The Oxygen collection is inspired by combinations of oxygen molecule shapes, the influence of which Jessica explained stems from her childhood: "When I was young, I would borrow my dad’s chemistry models and use them to create fabulous jewellery. Now, years later, I’ve launched a collection inspired by those first creations and those molecular models."

Princess Stones draws on the shapes of Princess Cut diamonds, the striking diamond shapes created by casting real diamonds into silver.  Jessica said: "The Jewellery Channel is one of the biggest outlets for jewellery in Britain and I am delighted to be following in the footsteps of big names like Lucy Quartermaine, of LucyQ Designs, and Rachel Galley, both of whom have been with the channel for several years now.

"This is an exciting time for me and I look forward to releasing several new collections in 2014, some exclusive to The Jewellery Channel and some specifically for my own outlet and my nationwide network of independent boutiques.

"Design is what my life is all about and I have so many great ideas I want to share."
