Why not take the family to see a true theatre classic this Christmas? Les Mis is the longest running musical in west-end history and it’s not hard to see why. It’s not for the faint hearted, you’ll probably cry, but seeing Les Mis in the West End is a rite of passage for any theatre lover. So transport yourself back in time to 1815 France and sing your heart out to ‘I dreamed a dream’ alongside Fantine.

Les Misérables is at The Queen's Theatre, London. Tickets from £27.50

Another true West End classic to see over the festive period is Mamma Mia: the whole family will be singing along to all their favourite ABBA hits from the moment the curtain opens. Follow Sophie's journey as she sets out to find out which of her mum's three previous boyfriends is her real dad. It's feelgood and you'll leave the theatre with a smile on your face for sure (it's impossible to listen to Dancing Queen and not crack a smile) - and granny will love it.

Mamma Mia is at the Novello Theatre, London Tickets from: £27.50
