For those going all out on dates this Valentine’s Day the theatre can be one of the best places for such a venture.

With so much choice around here are of some of the sickliest sweet, lovey-dovey, super romantic shows on this February. They’ll make you laugh, cry and (hopefully) some brownie points later on, if you catch my drift.

Dirty Great Love Story

Dirty Great Love Story is a perfect romcom. You’ll definitely laugh, you might even cry and you’ll certainly leave the theatre feeling wonderful. A cosy, funny and relatable play that you’ll both surely enjoy.

Love's Labour's Lost RSC

Shakespeare’s classic comedies Love’s Labour’s Lost and Much Ado about Nothing (or Love's Labour's Won) will transfer to the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited season. The same ensemble will perform in both plays which can be seen as single performances or enjoyed as one event on one of the theatres’ two‑show days. Gorgeous language, romance and hilarity – a perfect hit this V day.

She Loves Me

She Loves Me tells the classic love story that inspired films such as Shop around the Corner and You’ve Got Mail. IT follows Amalia and Georg colleagues who aren’t exactly the best of friends. Unknowingly to one another, they are romantic pen pals. Follow the pair as they discover their anonymous writer is a lot closer to home than they thought. A perfectly gooey romance.

Half a Sixpence

The new super sweet musical Half a Sixpence opened to great reviews and features a hugely talented cast. Cameron Mackintosh's reinvention of the classic tale is an easy watch for all audiences. The story follows Arthur Kipps (Charlie Stemp) as he goes from rags to riches and is torn between two lovers. With an endearing soundtrack and a visually stunning set this is a super cute love story.

Aladdin

Nothing screams cutesy and lovely quite like Disney. The latest Disney hit to throw itself onto the stage is Aladdin. The classic love story is set to be breath-taking and nostalgic.  Tickets are pretty pricey but this spectacle could make the perfect outing this Valentine’s Day.
