So what do we want?
We’re looking for some students to take on a challenge and become a Section Editor/Assistant Editor for The National Student.
We work with student writers from all over the UK to publish the best news, opinions and features. Not only this, but we’ve also helped our student writers to secure proper jobs in the real world, with some of our writers going on to work for The Times, MTV, The Guardian and the Daily Mail.
You’ll be in charge of a specific section, meaning you’ll need to find at least 5 articles a week for your section. These can either come from you or from other writers currently on The National Student database. You’ll be part of our secret writer’s group, so you can contact people to make sure enough stuff is going up and no topic is covered twice.
You’ll also be in charge of finding 10 new writers a month; ask your course mates, flat mates, the SU bartender you sort of fancy – everyone.
You’ll be one peg down from the Section Editors, and have a little less work. You’ll both work together to find articles for the site, but you’ll be in charge of uploading only 3 articles a week – again these can come from you or other writers.
You’ll also be in charge of finding 5 new writers a month to sign up for The National Student Writers’ Programme; ask your course mates, flat mates, the SU bartender you sort of fancy – everyone.
Who do we want?
A 3* writer with a keen eye for a good story, who’s comfortable chatting to students (and maybe nudging a couple to get some content uploaded), and has writing experience.
That’s about it! Essentially you need to be sociable, happy to hit targets and know the difference between there, their and they’re.
