A plucky underage drinker attempted to get into the Newquay Arms, Cornwall with an amusing fake ID card. The card, possessing the name of Rodney Trotter, character from Only Fools and Horses, was seized by doormen after a number of details gave it away. The ID card claimed that the young man lived at 23 Nelson Mandela House in Peckham and was born in 1960. As if these particulars weren’t enough of a giveaway, the ID card also featured an image of Nicolas Lyndhurst, the actor who played Rodney in the BBC series. Boss at the Newquay Arms said of the amusing ID: “We put it through the scanner as a joke...then confiscated it.” Fortunately for him, the 'plonker' prankster swiftly fled the scene and police were unable to take him in. A forged licence can fetch a sentence of up to two years. There have been 13 fake IDs taken by police in Newquay this season alone.
