Wizz Air is sending lucky competition winners to a mystery location in Europe

180 travellers are being sent into the ‘unknown’ by Europe’s fastest growing airline, Wizz Air. The airline is running the competition ‘flights to the unknown’ as a part of their campaign ‘let’s get lost together’, which is aimed at encouraging people to embrace different cultures and experiences. Wizz Air will be sending winners and one lucky partner into an unknown location, somewhere in Europe, with return flights, two nights of accommodation and travel insurance all included. The airline is a relatively new low-cost carrier that operates in Central and Eastern Europe, with the competition offering residents of the UK a chance to discover and explore hidden locations across the continent. Wizz Air has been operating since 2004 and now carry passengers to 141 destinations in 44 countries across Europe, offering cheap and affordable opportunities to visit less frequently visited locations across Europe. The competition epitomises Wizz Air’s ethos of encouraging travellers to explore the world and experience as many different cultures as possible.

All the entrants had to do was complete an online form at Wizz Air’s website. As well as uploading a picture to their public personal Instagram page, exhibiting their favourite travelling memories, along with the hashtags #getlostwithWIZZ and #wizzair.
Wizz Air has been judging the pictures on Instagram since the deadline at 23:59pm on Friday 13th July, with the winners set to be announced shortly. The more ‘creative, adventurous and humourous pictures’ will be the ones that book their seats on board the plane to the unknown, according to the airline.
Johan Eidhagen, the chief marketing officer of Wizz Air, has said: “Since we started Wizz Air in 2004, we have been committed to providing exciting and unique travel opportunities at truly low prices.” He went on to say, “Our customers are seeking truly memorable experiences, which we all know are happening when you least expect them.”
The competition, therefore, marks a significant shift in the world of travelling, especially for young people. Wizz Air is emerging as a trailblazer within the aviation industry for providing cheap opportunities to indulge in local cultures away from mainstream destinations, broadening the horizons for travellers everywhere.
