Tampa Bay, Florida, is a summer paradise – the kind that is spoken about again and again in Hollywood film about people stripping off the stresses of university or college and just finding themselves.

And why wouldn’t it be?

A beautiful natural habour near the Gulf of Mexico, Tampa Bay has beauty and fun wherever you look and has something for everyone, day or night.

Want to make a splash? You can rent paddleboats or a water bike and touch down at the sparkling Hillsborough River. You can spend a day at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and hold on tight when you ride down the Congo River Rapids.

Want something calmer? Adventure Island’s Colossal Curl and lazy river give you the opportunity to lay back and just float.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo offers the Wallaroo Station, an Australian Outback-themed water zone where you can spray your friends with water guns to your heart’s content.

Get up close with dinos and rhinos at “Dinos Alive” - a beautiful garden of earthly frights! Terrible lizards of all shapes and sizes, animated and scientifically accurate (with the feathers included of course), make this a trip back in time without all the dangers that making Jurassic Park a reality would bring.

And when you get tired of the past, you can find some incredible experiences in the present, including a rhino that you can feed by hand and a giraffe you can meet eye to eye.

In the evening, why not take a walk down the Tampa Riverwalk? This urban icon runs 2.4 miles along the wonderfully gorgeous waterfront, and plays host to so many opportunities – a scenic walk, take a paddleboat and feel the water lap at your ankles or riding a bike out under the lights. Discover the best restaurants, hotels, public art and cultural experiences that Tampa Bay has to offer, strung like gems across this park.

Tampa Bay has so much to do, with summer concerts at Amalie Arena, which this summer will hold performances by Rod Stewart & Cyndi Lauper, Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran.

They have the historic Tampa Theatre, which will offer the chance for those who visit to catch a classic or indie flick in one of the coolest buildings that Tampa has to offer.

And you don’t have to be a child to visit the Glazer Children’s Museum or the Museum of Science and Industry, although if you do bring one along, they will be nothing short of entertained at what these institutions have to offer.

Tampa Bay is a wondrous place of gorgeous beaches and awe-inspiring historical landmarks. You can surf, sun and shop – and maybe feed a rhino on the side!
