Our Top Travel Destinations for 2015 are looking damn fine this summer, according to a survey by Travel + Leisure magazine. Both Bali (Indonesia, pictured right) and Santorini (Greece, pictured below) have been named amongst the world’s most beautiful islands by the magazine, coming in second and fifth place respectively. Santorini, known for its white buildings that are built into the cliffs leading down into the sea and for its stunning sunsets, is often considered the most beautiful and romantic of all the Greek islands. The news will come as a boost to Greece, which is seeing a substantial hit to its tourism due to the current economic crisis that could see its exit from the EU. The Indonesian island of Bali, meanwhile, is likely to remain popular with British tourists – especially backpackers and those travelling in neighbouring Australia – due to its snow-white beaches, unique wildlife and Southeast Asian beauty. Bali is also more accessible to UK travellers than it might first appear - you can fly there for less than £450 return with national carrier Garuda Indonesia. Also making the top ten is the tropical paradise of Moorea, French Polynesia, which you can visit via a catamaran from Tahiti – another of our Top Destinations. The most beautiful islands in the world are the Galapagos, 600 miles off Ecuador, which are known for their giant tortoises, clear blue waters and rugged coastline. The archipelago is where Charles Darwin was inspired to begin his research into The Origin of Species 150 years ago. The full top ten is as follows: 1. Galapagos Islands, Ecuador 2. Bali, Indonesia 3. Maldives 4. Tasmania, Australia 5. Santorini, Greece 6. Moorea, French Polynesia 7. Maui, Hawaii 8. Kauai, Hawaii 9. Great Barrier Reef Islands, Australia 10.
