Looking for a way to avoid the sweltering summer heat? Netflix has more than a few well-timed indoor distractions lined up this month. 

From brand new original series to returning favourites, there's plenty to binge-watch as the summer holidays come to a close. 

Better Call Saul: Season 4 - Now

Following the dramatic events of Season 3, the latest season of Better Call Saul finally begins to delve into the nitty gritty of Jimmy McGill's transformation into the Saul Goodman of Breaking Bad, as he takes some serious steps in the criminal world.

Insatiable: Season 1 - 10th August

A Netflix original that is already on everyone's radar (albeit for problematic reasons), Insatiable is a darkly comic series in which a disgraced civil lawyer turned beauty pageant coach takes a scorned, overweight teenager under his wing - only to be shocked when her need for vengeance becomes, you guessed it, insatiable.

Gotham: Season 4 - 15th August

The fourth season of the DC series joins the Netflix vaults this month, notching up the drama as the criminal landscape of Gotham city gets wider with the emergence of The Riddler, Penguin and the soon-to-be Catwoman. 

Top of The Lake: Season 2 - 17th August

Jane Campion's intriguing female-led detective series returns for another round as Detective Robin Griffin (The Handmaid Tale's Elisabeth Moss) looks into the death of a young Asian girl who washes up on Bondi Beach. Gwendoline Christie and Nicole Kidman also star.

Disenchantment: Season 1 - 17th August

From The Simpsons' creator Matt Groening comes the new animated series, Disenchantment. Riffing off the themes of classic fairytales, the series follows the misadventures of a reluctant, hard-drinking princess, her dim-witted elf companion and her personal demon.

The Innocents: Season 1 - 24th August

Treading somewhere between The OA and Stranger Things, this new sci-fi thriller follows a young runaway couple whose plans to escape are soon hindered by powerful and mysterious forces.
