Another month is upon us and, as always, that means new Netflix releases!

Finals may be on the horizon, but as ever, Netflix has a bunch of new shows joining its vaults. From new seasons of returning Netflix originals to some TV classics, there's plenty to binge-watch should you need a break from revising!

Love Island: Season 1 & 2 - 1st May

We might have lost six seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race this month (boo!), but Netflix is at least making up for the reality-shaped hole with the first two seasons of Love Island. Presented by Caroline Flack, the hit sensation is yours to catch up with (and/or rewatch) now!

Maigret - 1st May

We may love him best as the loveable Mr Bean or the ever-so-cunning Edmund Blackadder, but Rowan Atkinson has some serious acting chops to spare too. Watch him take on the role of Georges Simenon's classic French detective in the impressive ITV specials, Maigret Sets a Trap and Maigret's Dead Man.

Prime Suspect: Seasons 1-6 - 1st May

All six seasons of the classic police procedural based on Lynda La Plante's bestselling novels are coming to Netflix this month. Starring Dame Helen Mirren as DI Jane Tennison, the series is worth watching if only for the early cameos from such stars as Peter Capaldi, Jonny Lee Miller and David Thewlis.

The Rain: Season 1 - 4th May

After a brutal virus wipes out most of the population, two young siblings embark on a perilous search for safety in this intriguing new Scandinavian thriller series.

Dear White People: Season 2 - 4th May

Dear White People returns for a second season this month. Romantic dilemmas, a social media troll and big changes at Armstrong- Parker House push Sam, Lionel and their friends to their limits.

13 Reasons Why: Season 2 - 18th May

The controversial mystery drama series is returning for a sophomore season later this month. Far from straying away from heavy, uncomfortable subjects, this season is said to focus on a serious sexual assault.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Season 4 - 30th May

The irrepressibly loveable Kimmy Schmidt is coming back to our screens with an all new series at the end of the month. Season 4 of the Tina Fey/Robert Carlock series sees Kimmy getting a job at a tech startup, Titus pretending to have a TV show to impress Mikey, and Jacqueline starting a talent agency. What could possibly go wrong?
