Student protestors at University of Warwick have ended their occupation of the Slate conference centre after “big concessions” were made by university management.

Warwick for Free Education wrote on Facebook at around 10am that that “after lengthy discussion and negotiation with the University, we have reached agreement on several of our demands, and will be ending the Slate occupation today.”

They have been occupying the £5.3 million conference centre since 2nd December.

According to the group’s Facebook page, the university has agreed to various concessions, including releasing a statement criticising the government’s Higher Education reforms and ensuring that all hourly-paid academic staff have full representation from the University and College Union.
