Budding student DJs have the chance to play at Gottwood festival through their student DJ competition. The competition process begins by budding DJs and producers submitting their mixes to Gottwood Festival via download link to firstname.lastname@example.org. But you’ll have to be quick as it all closes this Thursday (March 28th). Send your mixes (as a download link) to email@example.com. Mixes should ideally be original mixes - no rip-offs - and preferably something that is done with two turntables/CDJs and a mixer. The top 10 entries, as selected by the Gottwood team, will be put through a 10-day poll via the Gottwood Festival Facebook and Soundcloud pages to see who will be making it to the festival. Previous winners of the competition are on the 2013 line-up, proving the long-term value of the competition’s first prize. Previous winners include Solus in 2012. Eton Messy and Atlas were runners up. All three are appearing at Gottwood this year, with Solus on the lineup and Eton Messy hosting their own stage featuring Atlas. Eton Messy said: “The Gottwood Student DJ Competition is a great platform to raise your profile and meet like-minded music lovers, as well as an opportunity to play at one of the UK's leading niche music festivals. “Since doing the competition last year and playing a set it gave us the perfect springboard, and now we are delighted to be back.” The winner of the competition will be announced on April 10.
