Liverpool will now have to add Saido Mane to their list of injury worries alongside James Milner and Mohamed Salah who have all picked up knocks while representing their countires.

Forward Mane broke a bone in his left hand in Senegal's 3-0 qualifier win over Sudan this past weekend and is a doubt ahead of a crucial trip to Huddersfield this Saturday in which the Reds will try to keep pace with their league title challengers.

Senegal coach Aliou Cisse confirmed Mane won't be considered for the return game in Khartoum, though he has still travelled to Sudan with the squad.

Team doctor, Abdourahmane Fedior, said that Mane had an x-ray on Monday after the squad arrived in the Sudanese capital.

The x-ray revealed a fracture in his left thumb which has been strapped and has now made the striker a doubt for this weekend's 5:30 kick-off against Huddersfield.

Mane was pictured with a cast on his left hand after the match, but it is as yet unclear how long the injury will sideline him for.

Fellow Liverpool forward Salah was injured in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as he picked up a leg injury playing for Egypt last week and has returned to Liverpool, missing Tuesday's game in Swaziland.
