Full time student and rugby international: Maro Itoje

Maro Itoje seems like a normal student until you consider the fact that the 21-year-old has already featured in England's senior rugby squad, making his debut against Italy. He has been dubbed as one of the brightest English talents of his generation, and the young lock/flanker has become a regular for club Saracens whilst also impressing at international level. But despite being a premiership rugby player Itoje still is a full time student at London's School of Oreintal and African Studies in which he is in his final year of a degree in politics. Itoje does admit: "It’s quite nice to go incognito for a while. Politics is a little bit different to Premiership rugby [...] I don’t think a lot of [my classmates] know who I am to be honest." On the rugby pitch he is a well known talent and is the current European player of the year with numerous sponsorship deals already being presented to the youngster. For England Itoje has featured mainly at blindside and with the appointemnt of new manager Richard Hill, Itoje's transition should be made easier. “Unfortunately I can’t really read the mind of the coaches, if I could get some Marvel-style talents then I would, but unfortunately I can’t. I’m not really concerned about speculation. I’ve played a number of positions for Saracens and when I was growing up, so I’ll play wherever the coaches pick me," said Itoje. But despit this mass attention the youngester admits he just wants to carry on improving. “I like to think I am getting better. My goal is just to get better. I’m young; hopefully I’ll have a couple more years left in the game so my goal is just to improve year on year and wherever that takes me, we’ll see.” Much more improvement and even his classmates will start paying attention...
