Earlier this week, a homecoming party came to a halt when the apartment floor collapsed under the weight.

Students at the University of North Texas in Denton threw a homecoming party in The Ridge complex when the third floor gave way, only minor injuries have been reported.

Bianca Iwunze who was in the kitchen when the incident happened told TNS that she heard everyone let out a noise and that's when she went to see what had happened. She claims that there were around fifty people at the party and a handful fell through the floor.

She posted a video on Twitter showing people trying to get out from the rubble and burst water pipes.

A GoFundMe page, which has since been deleted, was set up by Abiola Busrai to help raise money for the damages, he wrote:

"It was supposed to be a night filled with fun and good energy during homecoming week. During the occasion we began to notice that the floor was beginning to make way and before we knew the entire floor of my living room caved into my neighbor's apartment.

"We are raising money to pay for all damages both upstairs and downstairs for both our neighbors and ourselves. We thank God no one was seriously hurt. Please help us achieve our goal."
