Barry Chuckle, one half of the comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers, has died aged 73, his manager has said.
"It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family," Barry’s manager Phil Dale said in a statement.
The popular entertainer, whose real name was Barry Elliott, starred in the CBBC show ChuckleVision with his brother Paul between 1987 and 2009.
Speaking about his death, Paul said: "I've not just lost my brother, I've lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend."
After ChuckleVision ended in 2009 the duo went onto other ventures. The brothers appeared on a celebrity version of Coach Trip in 2010 and earlier this year released a new television series, Chuckle Time on channel five.
In 2014 Paul and Barry recorded a charity single with rapper Tinchy Stryder, the song 'To Me, To You (Bruv)' peaked at number 93 in the singles charts. The lyrics featured their popular catch phrases 'to me, to you' and 'oh dear, oh dear', with the video showing them arguing over a ladder in a similar style to one of their ChuckleVision sketches.
