Fancy yourself as a technology innovator of the future?

Sharp Europe is offering students the opportunity to win a fully paid internship this summer at its prestigious Research and Design centre, Sharp Laboratories of Europe, in Oxford, which is developing future technologies aimed at helping aid society.

Sharp has been responsible for cutting edge inventions, including LCD technology and smart cards.

The internship, which is open to students across Europe, will see the lucky winner working for two months – maybe on projects that will change the way we go about day to day life in the future.

Here are the details of how to enter:

·         Come up with an idea to help solve a human need to benefit society

·         Sketch the idea onto paper or scribble in a notebook

·         Take a photograph

·         Upload and share it on Twitter with the hashtag #GetItDownOnPaper

Ian Thompson, Director at Sharp Laboratories of Europe says: “What we are looking for is someone full of enthusiasm, originality and genuine curiosity. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about science to work on cutting-edge technologies and a project that could eventually be put into production.

“We’ve got a great track record at Sharp Laboratories of Europe for innovating products and inventing new technologies, but people are at the core of everything we do, and it’s vital to nurture the next generation. Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your ideas.”

The deadline for entries is 27 May.

The winner will be announced on Humans Invent on June 10th with the placement beginning on the 1st July for two months.
