Two Door Cinema Club have released a series of voiceless clips across social media - surreal fragments clad in block colours from the new music video - to introduce their new single 'Talk'.
Image Credit: PressThe song is all about persuasion, but not from a starting point - just encouraging one to carry on with what is habitual. Likewise, Two Door Cinema Club really habituate the style from their previous album. Their initial guitar-fronted sound within their first two albums is heavily substituted for bass. 'Talk' uses the bass as a playful shuffle towards their more dance-pop meets rock style; its wonky finger-play is a winding line akin to the telephone wire that dangles across the single's cover. Synching with the acrobats within the new music video, the rhymes are, likewise, acrobatic: "choose", "move", "prove" and more jigsaw into "something", propelling it into a groove. 'I Can Talk', from their very first album Tourist History, followed a similar thematic vein nearly a decade ago. Lyrically, 'I Can Talk' is a statement that has now been churned into 'Talk'. Two Door Cinema Club no longer need to prove themselves and make a bold statement with their latest single. The band have confirmed a number of festivals this summer, including AMP London, Tramlines, Y Not and Truck Festival. For now, check out the latest single from Two Door Cinema Club, 'Talk'.
