Hear This: Arctic Monkeys - Anyways

‘Anyways’, the newly released track that for whatever reason didn't quite make it onto Arctic Monkeys’ sixth studio album Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino, is just as well-crafted as any of the tally of 11 that made up their May 2018 record.
evoke images of the band in the studio meticulously crafting their collection of luxurious, stylistic divergent material at Lunar Surface (Turner’s LA residence, and where the album was recorded). ‘Anyways’ possesses a serene dignity with lyrics which ambiguously comment on modern issues, while at the same time conveying an air of detachment, because ultimately, everything is "just another race to anyways".
It’s a beautiful song and it reminds us of exactly why we loved Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino. Understandably, Arctic Monkeys have matured since the release of AM in 2013, and instead of pretending to represent a genre they no longer feel invested in, they have produced an album which reflects their maturity.
‘Anyways’ fits in perfectly with this new Arctic Monkeys era and this newfound creative direction promises much more to come from the Sheffield four-piece.
