Hear This: Ouri - Escape

Rising electronic producer Ouri has signed to Ghostly International / Make It Rain, with a new EP We Share Our Blood set to release next month.

A DJ, producer, mix-master and multi-instrumentalist, Ouri hails from South America by way of France and is now firmly settled, producing star-spangled tracks, in Montreal. With a background tinkering on the piano, harp and cello, Ouri's individual style of electronic production is heavily influenced by an airy melody.

Her first offering Superficial, released in 2017, gave a sneak peek into her laboratory of creativity; delicately blending strength and weakness, and reality and chaos, which made for an intoxicating debut. Now, We Share Our Blood will incorporate soul, elements of futuristic R&B and murky electronica in a way to bring her closer to her audience. 

Her latest single 'Escape' is a startling discovery of togetherness through human social interaction. Crisp drums and a thudding bassline contrast beautifully with the first glimpse of Ouri's vocals used in one of her own tracks, shared with us through wistful harmonies and muted rhymes. It's a song that caresses the crevasses of a dreamer's mind, twinkling in and out, in bursts of vivid colour.
