After almost two years of releasing music and touring non-stop with Alter Bridge, guitarist Mark Tremonti has found the time to work on an exiting new project for his side band Tremonti. Here is ‘A Dying Machine’, the first music released by the heavy-metal trio since their 2016 critically acclaimed album Dust. Tremonti, the band comprised of Mark Tremonti (Creed, Alter Bridge), Eric Friedman and Garret Whitlock, has finally released the first single and title track off their fourth full length album, ‘A Dying Machine’. The sound of this new track, which is also the first release for Tremonti through Napalm Records, remains faithful to the band’s signature style even though some extra post-production than usual can be heard. This 6:19 minutes long track showcases once again Mark’s powerful vocals and melodies along with incredibly fiery guitar riffs which he is known to be a master of. The lyrics also seem to be pushed further this time around, with verses more researched and the addition of figures of speech to embellish the writing style. “Again, you've come back, oh, I'll die in this place/ Mechanical cradle, synthetic embrace / You're a dying machine, you’re a dying machine” sings the chorus. ‘A Dying Machine’ is the first concept album of Tremonti’s career. The music is inspired by a story that came to Mark while on the last Alter Bridge tour. The story, which is being turned into a work of fiction authored by Mark Tremonti and John Shirley, takes place at the turn of the next century where humans and fabricated beings called “vessels” are trying to co-exist. Tremonti and Shirley are working on finishing the novel to release alongside the record.
