Coinciding with the announcement of their second studio album, DMAs have released the brand new single 'In The Air'.

The Aussie three-piece, who have been frequently likened to Britpop icons Oasis and Blur, returned to the studio last year, making their eagerly awaited comeback with 'Dawning' in October.

As initial tasters of the forthcoming record, the two singles offer two contrasting sounds from the Sydney-based band. Where 'Dawning' followed similar songwriting and thematic patterns as songs from their debut album, 'In The Air' comes in as a wistful ballad, with dreamy guitar hooks putting an Aussie inspired twist on their typically British sounding music. The melodic backdrop to O'Dell's chilled-out vocals reminds listeners exactly why DMAs sold-out a run of academy gigs last year, but also provides a refreshing insight to where the band are headed with their new music.

Vocalist Tommy O'Dell delivers powerfully emotional lyrics, which fans saw glimpses of in previous releases such as 'Delete' and 'So We Know'. However, 'In The Air' explores a purer, more refined sound from DMAs, enhanced by the work of Kim Moyes, who produced the stunning final scores.

Featuring an aesthetic resembling the cast of This Is England, the band have quickly become one of the more exciting all-male indie-pop outfits of modern times, and have even managed to attract the ears of rock n' roll legend Liam Gallagher, who has publicly endorsed the band's work in previous interviews. With a rapidly growing fandom developing in the UK, it is no surprise they already have a stacked festival season, including a headline set at Liverpool's Sound City in May.
