After a three year hiatus, Brighton indie-pop duo Peggy Sue return with latest single 'Slow Fade'.

The track is the first single from the band's forthcoming fifth album, due in 2018.

Kicking off with some hazy, melodic hooks, the song takes influence from the perfectly constructed pop songs of the 1960s, but with the harmonies of vocals from the two singers giving the track its own modern twist. It's a dreamy number with an upbeat rhythm, despite the lyrics carrying the underlining theme of breakups and heartbreaks.

On the song, band member Katy Young says, "I was pretty heartbroken and trying all these tactics to make it finish faster; going out, staying in, talking about it, not talking about it. But at some point I realised that when I was okay again, it would be because the love was done. And so Slow Fade is about letting it take its time."

Peggy Sue will be performing a headline gig at the Shacklewell Arms, London on December 2nd.
