With just four months until the party takes over the Isle of Wight once more, “boundary breaking acts and the best new bands” have made up the final round of acts announced for Bestival 2014.

Newly announced acts include tUnE-yArDs, aka Merrill Garbus, who will be bringing her punk riffs and “uniquely kaleidoscopic collision of aural extremes” to Robin Hill, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and Rudimental collaborator MNEK, London three-piece Factory Floor  and “deliriously unabashed indie-noise merchants” Wolf Alice.

Also announced are Glasgow trio The Amazing Snakeheads, rockers The Wytches, BBC Sound 0f 2014 nominees Say Lou Lou, as well as Deadbeats, Mø, Fat White Family, Glass Animals, Joel Compass, Woman’s Hour, Pional, Rosie Lowe and Childhood.

New music acts include Kate Tempest, Jessy Lanza, Melt Yourself Down, The Front Bottoms, Hockeysmith, Wild Smiles, Black Orange Juice, Rag N Bone Man, Vaults, FTSE, Tourist, Sivu, God Damn, Happyness, The Correspondents, Bo Saris, CongopunQ, Indiana, The Bulletproof Bomb, Fé and Cousin Marnie.

They join a line-up of big-hitters that is headed up by the long-awaited return of headliners Outkast, alongside Foals, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, Beck, Busta Rhymes, Candi Staton, Sven Vath and Chase & Status.

After kicking of 2013’s festivities aboard HMS Bestival, Rob da Bank’s fancy dress shindig has Desert Island Disco as its theme this year – so we’re expecting tribesmen, feathers, palm trees – and, hopefully, a whole lot of sun.

The man himself says: “In our humble opinion these are the breaking acts of 2014 from the worlds of rock, indie, electronics and pretty much any genre - a delve inside the musical brain of Rob da Bank to find the ones to watch, the ones who'll make records you'll love this summer and the ones who'll make you dance ya socks off in September.”

Can’t argue with that.

Bestival takes place at Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight from 4th – 7th September.
