Not exactly the World's Greatest: R. Kelly Impersonator Allegedly Stands in for Musician at Gig

29th October 2013 09:07:09

Angry fans are asking for refunds after an impersonator for R. Kelly allegedly performed in his place at a gig in Los Angeles this weekend.

One attendee remarked, “the advertisement online through Ticketmaster said that it was a Ced’s All Black Affair and R. Kelly performing live, which did not happen last night.”

Instead, a local impersonator lip-synced for a matter of minutes before being booed off stage.

According to KNOE.com, the event promoter Cedric Johnson claims Kelly is the culprit and that he was ‘duped’ and will be refunding half of the ticket value to fans. However commenters on KNOE.com claim Johnson knew the real R. Kelly would not be performing.

According to the Facebook page for Ced's All Black Affair, a statement to explain "what actually happened" will be given later today.
