Gold Panda hit the scene with his psychedelic sounds a few years ago, mesmerising us with the charms of his oriental infused sounds. Now he's back and ready to seize the summer with happy vibes ahead of his forthcoming album. Born in London but educated in Japan, the eastern influences on Gold Panda's music were apparent from the start, and were part and parcel of the understated charms of the early work. Hypnotic loops of uplifting chords whirring in a flurry around your head make you pause and appreciate the organised chaos of the music; 'Marriage' was perhaps one of Gold Panda's biggest successes in 2011 Since then, Gold Panda has been exploring. After spending some time in South America soaking up the sights, sounds and smells of Sao Paolo, a new album is in the pipeline for the summer. Having leaked a track for his fans to give a taste of what to expect, the change in tack is apparent. 'Brazil' is wired with a tribal beat and wordless vocals that take your head to a dreamlike carnival of music; the inspiration may have shifted, but Gold Panda assures us that this is only to allow him to blossom as he moves forward for summer 2013.
