New Band of The Day: A Troop of Echoes
Share This Article:
A Troop of Echoes are a post-rock quartet from Providence, Rhode Island. They play post-rock with a free jazz edge, something unusual and different in an outdated genre. When you strip back the reverb and dominant left sided saxophone, rock n' roll breaks loose. Their debut album Days in Automation was released two and a half years ago. The noisy 'Analog Astronaught', brings comparisons to fellow Rhode Islanders Lightning Bolt, while 'New Breath' highlights the bands musical ability. It’s a compilation of instrumental tracks with an array of genres. A Troop of Echoes are like a softer Maybeshewill without the vocal samples. The quartet released a follow-up EP titled The Shortest Record This Year in October, 2012. It’s going to be a bright future for A Troop of Echoes. With a strong debut album under their belt and several important contacts in the music industry, they just need to keep up the releases and continue touring.
