Award winning Team17 and game developer Mouldy Toof Studios are excited to announce that Escapist 2 is set to be released in August 2017.
Escapist 2 is the sequel to the fantastic award-winning prison-escape game, The Escapist, which set you up as a prisoner in a county jail, and you had to use all the information and objects at your disposal to escape. This time, things will be shaken up. Players will now have the thrilling experience of escaping from a hidden compound in the middle of the jungle. Determination and drive are needed to avoid patrolling guards, constant surveillance and the Leader, who wants nothing more than to keep you captive. Overcome all these, and you’ll find your freedom. It won’t be an easy task. You’ll have to work around the strict prison schedule to avoid attention from the guards. Craft weapons and tools from supplies (stolen or otherwise) in the compound – but beware of cell shakedowns! Get a job or give “favours” to your fellow inmates to get your hands on the supplies, all the while staking out possible escape routes. Escapist 2 will also include some new additions from the original game. Not only will there be a range of unique maps to make each level something different to experience and multiple escape routes for each one, but players will also have the chance to play in single player or multiplayer, both locally and online. There will be online co-op and a versus mode where you can play with up to four of your friends! There will be new customisable weapons; new options to make your con just as you want them, and an updated combat system that should make this game a different experience from its predecessor. Escapist 2 will launch on the 22nd August for Xbox One, PS4 and PC – with a Nintendo Switch version coming shortly after. Pre-orders for the game are available via Steam and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from select retailers, with digital pre-orders available soon.
