Gaming News: Fallout 4

This past week we were finally given the first, long awaited glimpse of the next installment to everyone's favourite post-apocalyptic game series: Fallout 4. I'm not what you'd call a gamer by any means but if there's a game I'd happily shut myself in my room for days on end for, then it's either Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas. It's hard to believe it's been just under five years since Fallout New Vegas and, unbelievably, seven years since Fallout 3 were released. Set in a post-apocalyptic America following nuclear war between the United States and China, the Fallout series is a unique, immersive gaming franchise with a huge universe stretching beyond the game series. And from the looks of the newly released trailer, Fallout 4 looks to carry on the legacy which has gripped a generation. From the trailer alone suspicions on the game being set in Boston have been confirmed. All too familiar characters have also been confirmed, from Mirelurks to Deathclaws, another Vault Dweller and even everyone's favourite nuclear wasteland DJ, Three Dog. Scenes of Vertibirds and Power Armour as well as Three Dog's presence may suggest the return of the Brotherhood of Steel, of whom some leaked reports suggested played a minor role. Unlike Fallout New Vegas which adopted the same game engine as Fallout 3, Fallout 4 looks fresher, cleaner (well as clean as the wasteland can get) and all around more beautiful than previous instalments. And for those in the Modding community, it seems perhaps Bethesda have taken note, with air-ships, and perhaps adopted some of the fan favourites created for the previous games. However one can only hope that in the seemingly never ending wait for news on Fallout 4, Bethesda took some time to iron out the all too infamous bugs that come with their massive RPGs. One thing's for sure though, this sneak peak of what's to come is only the beginning. If this trailer has done anything it's only further blown our minds and expectations. There are so many questions, when's it set? what's the story? when's it released? is it multiplayer? My god does the Vault Dweller actually talk?! We can only wait until Bethesda relent and feed our hunger for more post-apocalyptic news.
