It’s been almost a week since Costa coffee released their 2017 Christmas menu. And here, at The National Student, we can confirm we’ve been there, tasted all of the drink, warmed up, raised our sugar levels and got back to the office happier than ever! We have also collected all the necessary information for you. What’s new and returning on the Christmas menu, what is their Christmas cups design and most importantly- is Black Forest Hot Chocolate back?
The announced headliner this year is The Billionaire’s Hot Chocolate: layers of caramel sauce, freshly whipped cream topping and shortbread crumbs. It also comes as a latte, for the ones who need the caffeine kick as well as the Christmas indulgence. There’s also a Billionaire’s Latte Frostino if you want to be really naughty.
Rejoice everyone as the Black Forest drinks are making a long waited return as well. Cherry syrup, topped off with freshly whipped cream, sour cherry sauce and black forest chocolate sprinkles. Comes as a Frostino as well.
The Gingerbread Latte classic is also back: dash of gingerbread syrup, topped with freshly whipped cream, speculous berry crumb and the Christmas hero, Charlie: the mini gingerbread man. The Honeycomb latte and the Salted Caramel Cappuccino extend the list of Christmas coffee drinks. While the Black Forest Hot Chocolate is always the hype of the hot chocolate section, the Mint Hot Chocolate and the Lindt Hot Chocolate seem like completely reasonable choices as well. The Ultimate Winter Warmer: The Hot Spiced Apple has returned to our list of favourites as well. Feeling hungry? Costa have thought about this as well and included a Christmas-inspired food range on their menu. The Christmas Club Sandwich is an indulgence of British Cumberland sausage, British turkey breast, a mix of béchamel sauce, British pork sage & onion stuffing, mozzarella & cheddar cheeses; British smoked bacon, cranberry sauce and spinach leaf in round white bread. Feeling like you need a melting-hot panini after a long day? We say yes to the Brie and Bacon panini: French Brie, British Smoked Bacon and Cranberry sauce in a stone baked sourdough panini
