The first trailer has dropped for the Coen Brothers latest film The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. The film, a Netflix exclusive slated for a November release, will follow six short stories all set in America’s wild frontier. The trailer shows off the impressive cast, with Liam Neeson, Tim Blake Nelson and James Franco all making an appearance. We also get to see some of the stunning cinematography the film will showcase as the Coen’s utilise the desolate and dusty as well as the lush and scenic landscapes of the west. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs also looks to have the same dry Coen humour that has become a trademark of the directors' films, with the trailer making light of, not one, but two hangings. Originally planned as an anthology series, it was announced in July that The Ballad of Buster Scruggs would be reduced to a feature-length film. The stories themselves come from Western-themed short stories written by the Coens over a twenty-five-year period, each differing in tone a subject. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs will be released on Netflix November 16th. For now, check out the new trailer below.
