Fresh off the amazing success of Black Panther (2018), Michael B. Jordan is back in jaw-dropping shape for the sequel to Rocky spin-off Creed (2015).
Creed was the second collaboration between Jordan and director Ryan Coogler, with Black Panther being the third, but this time around, Coogler’s released the reigns to Steven Caple Jr., known for The Land (2016) and A Different Tree (2014).
Alongside Jordan, the iconic Sylvester Stallone returns for his whopping 8th outing as Rocky Balboa — father figure and boxing mentor to Jordan’s Adonis Creed, son of Rocky’s opponent Apollo.
Always at his side is Tessa Thompson’s Bianca, Donnie’s singer-songwriter love interest with progressive hearing loss. Thompson brought such a wonderful natural chemistry to the role, and we can’t wait to see how she’s developed as an actress after the sheer number of projects she’s worked on since — Annihilation (2018), Dirty Computer (2018), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Dear White People, and Sorry to Bother You (2018) to name a few.
The trailer for this sequel is as explosive as you’d expect, with punchy fight scenes perfectly choreographed to Kendrick Lamar’s “D.N.A.” Tensions run higher than ever as Rocky and Donnie disagree, the Creed legacy is passed on to a new generation, and there’s more to lose than ever.
The scale is ramped up, the stakes are higher, emotions are running high. We can’t wait to get in the ring!
Creed II is released in UK cinemas on November 30th, distributed by Warner Bros.
