You aren't ready for Steve McQueen's 'Widows' trailer

Based on the novel by Lynda La Plante, co-written by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, and directed by the Academy Award winning Steven McQueen (12 Years a Slave) comes this electric thriller, Widows.


Starring the Academy Award winning Viola Davis (Fences), alongside Michelle Rodriguez (Fast and Furious), Tony Award winning Cynthia Erivo, and Elizabeth Debicki (The Tale), as the widows of a criminal gang whose deaths leave behind a lot of debt. Spoiler alert: Liam Neeson is going to die pretty early on in this film!

Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Academy Award nominated Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) and Atlanta's Brian Tyree Henry feature amongst the menacing cast of villains that round out this all-star line-up.

The official synopsis states: "Widows is the story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands' criminal activities. Set in contemporary Chicago, amid a time of turmoil, tensions build when Veronica (Viola Davis), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) take their fate into their own hands and conspire to forge a future on their own terms."

With a score from Hans Zimmer, and some truly explosive cinematography, this is sure to be the action thriller of the century.

Widows hits UK cinemas on November 9th, distributed by 20th Century Fox.
