The Best Films coming to Netflix UK in December

2017 is almost at an end, but our favourite streaming service still has some crackers left to see us into a new year. Among this month's film offerings are films from the likes of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, a new Netflix original starring Will Smith and the modern classic that is Sharknado. With the cold coming in and the holidays approaching, there couldn't be a better time to snuggle up and watch films back to back. American Graffiti - 1st December With the imminent arrival of another Star Wars story upon us, now seems like an apt time to watch the film that precedes the entire sci-fi franchise in George Lucas' illustrious career. Set in 1962, this coming of age comedy follows a group of high school graduates cruising the strip before college. The film stars the likes of Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard and Harrison Ford.
Kick-Ass - 1st December Matthew Vaughn's vulgar, high-octane vigilante superhero flick makes a welcome return to Netflix this month. Based on the comic by Mark Millar, this 2010 action-comedy stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz and Nicolas Cage.
Sharknado - 1st December Finally, Sharknado takes its rightful place in the Netflix vaults of binge-worthy trash. Sharks + Tornadoes = a lot of stupidly good fun.

Back To The Future I-III - 14th December GREAT SCOTT! All three films in the Back To The Future trilogy are making their way to Netflix this month. Join Doc and Marty in the DeLorean as they travel to different eras in the history of Hill Valley, California.
Bridge of Spies - 20th December Steven Spielberg's 2015 historical legal thriller follows the story of a lawyer who is entrusted with negotiating the release of a US air pilot in exchange for a soviet spy. Starring Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance (in an Oscar-winning role) and co-written by the Coen brothers, this conglomerate of Hollywood heavyweights is a recipe for success.
Bright - 22nd December Netflix's latest original film, Bright, follows two L.A. cops who become embroiled in a prophesised turf battle. The twist? They live in an alternate reality wherein magical creatures - including orcs - live among us. Unusual, but thrilling, the film stars Will Smith, Joel Edgerton and Noomi Rapace.
Mad Max: Fury Road - 24th December This Christmas Eve, the Netflix elves are gifting us with the opportunity to re-live George Miller's explosive contribution to the Mad Max franchise. Tom Hardy stars as the eponymous hero, but Charlize Theron steals the show as the fearless Furiosa, who leads her fellow female prisoners to escape from their sinister captor.
Spotlight - 30th December This Oscar-winning film heralds the power of investigative journalism as it tells the story of the Boston Globe's ground-breaking scoop on the sexual abuse happening at the hands of Catholic priests.
