A speeding bus, a time machine and a dystopian future represent just a selection of the obstacles Keanu Reeves has battled with on the big screen. He’s played cops, samurai warriors and high school students so it’s fair to say that Reeves has had a diverse career culminating in some brilliant films. 47 Ronin saw the Canadian actor venture into the world of the samurai and to celebrate the release of the film coming to Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and DVD on May 12th we are taking a look at some of Keanu’s best roles. Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) 1989 saw Reeves star as stupid spaced-out high school student, Ted Logan who, alongside his best friend, Bill, are on the verge of being kicked out of school due to their falling grades.The two of them desperately need to pass their history test and how do they plan on doing it? A time traveller called Rufus and his time machine, of course. They embark on a zany adventure through history meeting historical figures to ensure they ace their history exam. Speed (1994) Keanu stars alongside Sandra Bullock in this high octane, tense thriller as the two of them find themselves on the scariest bus journey they’ll ever take. A potentially fatal situation unfolds in which if the bus’ speedometer dips below 50 mph a planted bomb will explode. It’s time for Keanu Reeves to be the hero, save the passengers and negotiate the Los Angeles traffic before it’s too late. No pressure.
