Sourcing vegan beauty products isn’t always as easy as it sounds. Some companies are cruelty-free, but not vegan. Others include vegan products in their ranges (which is great!) but still also sell some that aren’t, which can mean trawling through a tonne of ingredients and more Googling than anyone cares for.

Beauty product shopping should be a fun and indulgent pass time - not a research project. So in celebration of Veganuary, here’s a roundup of entirely vegan brands, including makeup, skincare and hair products...

Ecotools

It’s often said that the quality of brushes used to apply makeup is just as important as the makeup products themselves. As well as being cruelty-free and vegan, Ecotools’ products are proudly produced from recycled materials, allowing you to shop completely guilt-free! Whether you’re on the lookout for makeup brushes, hair brushes or bath sponges, Ecotools have you covered. These products are also super affordable and you can pick them up online, or in-store at Boots or Superdrug.

Their Mini MaskMates Kit is all you need to apply your own eco-friendly DIY facials, including a brush, mixing cup and removal sponge, all for just £6.50. Or, if you’re looking to expand your brush collection, check out their Eye Enhancing Duo Brush Set.

e.l.f

Another high street fave, e.l.f cosmetics offer a stunning range of easily accessible and affordable vegan makeup and skincare products. Not only are their offerings already insanely cheap (£2 concealer anyone?) they also offer 15% off for students online. Who said you can’t shop ethically on a budget?

Among their best sellers is a stunning Baked Highlighter for £5, which can be applied wet or dry depending on the level of glow you’re aiming for, and their Poreless Face Primer, which retails at £12.50.

Umberto Giannini

Certainly not a secret of the beauty industry, Umberto Giannini has graced our high streets for years. However, I have to admit I hadn’t realised until now that their range is entirely vegan. They cater to those with curls, thick hair envy or damage and have you covered from basic shampoos and conditioners to treatments and masks. I don’t think there’s a single hair care product out there that these guys can’t give you an affordable, vegan option for.

Give your friends some serious beachy-wave hair envy with their Catch A Wave Beach Texture Spray (£7) or get your hands on their Blow Dry in a Bottle (£7) to guarantee shiny, voluminous locks.

Not only are their products 100% natural, Upcirlce’s range promises to also be ‘100% brilliant’, throw in 100% affordable and these guys have the full package.

Bleach London

Of course the roundup would be incomplete if we forgot to include a vegan hair dye range, so we’re pleased to confirm that Bleach London, favoured in the beauty world for their vivid colour products, are completely vegan. What better reason to experiment and really go all out with your hair colour? The brand range also extends to hair care and styling products as well as stunning, vibrant makeup products so you can get just as colourful with your eyeshadow looks.
