She was the Queen of the Upper East Side as Serena Van Der Woodsen in Gossip Girl, but in real-life Blake Lively is the undisputed queen of the red carpet.

Blake has an impeccable sense of style and famously styles herself after previously admitting she's much too much of a control-freak to have a stylist. Which in our eyes makes her incredible looks even more impressive.

In honour of the actress's 31st birthday we look back at 10 of her best ever red carpet looks.

Café Society Premiere, 2016

Blake wore this grey silk Carolina Herrera mini dress back in 2016 and it's still a firm favourite look. Embellished with floral detailing and teamed with stacks of Lorraine Schwartz jewels and an Ariana Grande style ponytail. Chic.

This stunning Atelier Versace dress is a look that will go down in Cannes red carpet history. Rose gold was the shade of 2016, and this diamante embellished gown looked effortlessly glam teamed with her signature laid-back California girl waved hair.

At this year's Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination Met Gala in New York, Blake wowed the crowds in this dress. The hand-made ruby red and ornately beaded Versace creation reportedly took over 600 hours to create and was so large, Blake had to travel to the Met on a bus!

The Met Gala is all about show-stopping gowns and this custom Christopher Bailey for Burberry design was most definitely that! The handmade blush pink dress, which Blake herself helped to design, was embroidered with perspex red petals. Whoever said pink and red don't go together had obviously never met Blake Lively.

Mr Turner Premiere, 2014

Blake served serious ethereal goddess vibes in this all-white look. The sheer panelled Chanel Couture dress was cover in holographic floral embroidery which caught the light beautifully as she walked the red carpet. And just when you thought this dress couldn't get any more perfect... it has pockets!

Slack Bay Premiere, 2016

Cinderella is real and her name is Blake Lively! This breath-taking baby blue gown by Vivienne Westwood Couture wowed the crowds at Cannes. Teamed with silver heels and a thin white headband, Blake looked every inch the real-life princess.

Savages Premiere, 2012

Back in 2012, Blake channelled Veronica Lake in this vintage-inspired look. The monochrome Zuhair Murad dress teamed with red lips and nails is a look that will never go out of style.

Blake looks timelessly glam in this beautiful one-shouldered gown by Marchesa. The Grecian goddess style was huge back in the early 2010's and this intricately beaded chiffon sliver gown is still one of Blake's best looks.

Age of Adaline Premiere, 2015

The red dress dancing lady emoji has nothing on Blake in this dress. She looked phenomenal in a Monique Lhuillier gown, with a lace bustier and huge feathered skirt. The star of the film, Blake was also the star of the red carpet.

The 2014 Met Gala was held in homage to designer Charles James, often dubbed 'America's First Couturier'. Blake's stunning blush rose gold Gucci Première gown paid tribute to Charles James love for glamour and couture.
