EDIT: Florals

Spring has finally (almost, nearly, hopefully) sprung! What better way to celebrate than by reflecting the natural world in your clothes?

Woman walking in flowers 11th MarchFlorals are a classic trend, and they’ve swung around yet again for spring/summer 2018. You’re spoilt for choice at the moment in the shops, but here’s our pick of our favourite floral pieces out there.

Secret Garden Skater Dress – Oasis £80

Oasis secret garden dress 11th MarchOasis have absolutely nailed this trend this season, with not one, but three special collections playing with floral prints.

This dress is one of the prettiest I’ve seen, mixing together lady-like lace and a classic print. It is a little on the expensive side, but if you’ve got any big events such as weddings or christenings coming up this spring or summer, this is surely a must have.

Constantine Floral Jumpsuit – Warehouse £59

Warehouse floral jumpsuit 11th MarchThe jumpsuit trend is another which comes back around again every year, and Warehouse have combined the two perfectly in this piece. The wide-legged style makes this really flattering whilst the print is spring-like without becoming too old-fashioned.

This could be worn now, with a jacket flung over the top, but is going to look just as great this summer, especially if you’re jetting off somewhere exotic – these flowers were made for the sun!

Black floral embroidered front mini skirt – New Look £24.99

New Look embroidered skirt 11th MarchWhilst there are many skirts with ditsy-style prints available, this one takes a more Scandi-vibe, and the plethora of hygge books in the shops suggests that this is yet another trend which isn’t dying any time soon!

As we see off the last of the winter chill, wear this with tights. Then, as the weather eventually becomes more stable, this will look equally as great with bare legs and shoe boots.

Black Floral-Print Joggers – Dorothy Perkins £22

Dorothy perkins floral joggers 11th MarchIt’s easy to think of skirts and dresses when you think florals, but we shouldn’t neglect trousers either.

These casual joggers make a great alternative to jeans or sweats, and will see you right through from now until the autumn. Their versatility is one of their biggest selling points, as these will look great with trainers, flip-flops or heels.

Dress them up, dress them down – they’re going to be worth their weight in gold.

Secret Garden Cami – Oasis £28

Oasis Secret Garden cami 11th MarchAnother Oasis piece here, really proving they understand this trend. The colour on this cami is gorgeous and makes a refreshing change from the pinks and creams which seem to crop up as soon as the word ‘florals’ is mentioned.

This works just as well as a ‘nice top’ with jeans for a night out now as it will with shorts and sandals in the summer.

Ivory Embroidered Jumper – Dorothy Perkins £28

Dorothy perkins embroidered jumper 11th MarchThe embroidered trend was huge for autumn and winter, and this ivory coloured jumper refreshes it for spring. Let’s be honest – the British weather can be unpredictable so investing in a lightweight jumper for spring isn’t as crazy as it sounds.

This jumper also taps into the statement sleeve trend and does florals in a more subtle way for every day wear.

Mini floral crossbody bag – Zara £29.99

Zara crossover bag 11th MarchIf you want to keep your florals contained, accessories are the way to go.

This adorable bag makes a statement all by itself, so keep your outfit neutral to let it speak. I always love a crossbody bag as it keeps your hands free for drinks and dancing, so switch up your winter party-season clutch for this floral friend!

Burgundy Floral Print Longline Scarf – New Look £7.99

New Look floral scarf 11th MarchAnother brilliant way to try out a print-trend is via a scarf, especially one as inexpensive and eye-catching as this one from New Look.

Again, this takes florals in a different direction colour-wise, drawing on deep burgundy as its base colour. It’s another item of clothing we might forget about in the excitement of spring, but it’s just perfect for those cooler summer evenings we can hope might be just around the corner!

Painted Meadow Collar Knit – Oasis £42

Oasis collared knit 11th MarchIf you’re still finding florals a tough trend to get on board with, this cute jumper gives a little nod towards it without being too overpowering.

This could be a good way to dip your toe in the water and see how you get on with it. The embellished collar also means you don’t have to pick out matching jewellery – anything to save some time in the morning!

Chloe Lace Balconette Bra – Boux Avenue £26

Boux avenue floral bra 11th MarchTake the trend wherever you go by reflecting it in your underwear too!

This bra is pretty and girly, but also sexy, ticking off all of the floral boxes you could possibly want. Buy the matching thong or shorts for £12 and embrace the flower-power from head to toe.
