How to steal that best-dressed BAFTA style

The BAFTAS were on Sunday, and similary to last months Golden Globes there was a blackout on the red carpet as a response to the Times Up movement.

The blackout didn't stop the stars looking incredible, and here is our pick of the best dressed and how to get their red carpet looks on a student budget:

Naomie Harris in Zuhair Murad Couture

Actress Naomie was definitley one of the best dressed of the evening in this stunning sheer dress by Zuhair Murad Couture. The intricatley beaded tunic top was teamed with a pair of classic black cigarette trousers.

Naomie's dress over trousers look is one that isn't easy to pull off, but you can get her look with a beaded top and a pair of black trousers - perfect for a night out with the girls or dressing up for date night.

Lily James in Bespoke Burberry by Christopher Bailey

Darkest Hour star Lily James looked like a real-life princess in this bespoke Burberry gown by Christopher Bailey.

The simple bodice of the dress was complimented with an embellished belt and a huge tulle and organza skirt. She kept her hair, makeup and accessories simple to let the dress do the talking, choosing to just wear a pair of Harry Winston earrings.

Does red carpet queen Lupita Nyong'o ever get it wrong? The Black Panther actress wore a high neck gown from Elie Saab complete with gold detailing and a 'Times Up' badge.

The exaggerated waist of the dress is a nod to the 80's trend flooding the fashion world this AW18, and keeps the look young and fresh.

 Letitia Wright in Gucci

The breakout star of Black Panther, Letitia Wright stole the show on the red carpet too. She wore floor length Gucci, complete with the brands iconic bee motif embellished throughout the dress and silver straps and belt.

Like most of the women on the night, Letitia kept her hair and makeup simple to make sure that all attention was on the dress.

Nominated for best actress as her role as the titular character in Ladybird, Saoirse Ronan is no stranger to making brave, bold choices on the red carpet.

This Chanel dress is long sleeved and high neck on top keeping things simple, but the bottom of the dress is where the magic really happens with a sheer skirt and feathered trim.

Ruth Wilson went against the usual red carpet dress code, and wore a black two piece instead. The mix of feminine and masculine styles on the red carpet is huge, and Ruth seriously pulled it off.

The Duchess of Cambridge in Jenny Packham

The Duchess was highly criticised after she was one of the only women on the red carpet to not wear a black dress in respect of the Times Up campaign.

Instead she went for a dark green dress with a black ribbon, designed by one of her favourite designers, Jenny Packham.
